Blog from Ruth and Peter Musgrave on their new solar panels and the climate change agreement

There are two events that have happened this week. One small and personal and another which may change the way all of us live on the earth.

The first is the amazing achievement of 195 countries in reaching a common agreement on what we are going to do to prevent catastrophic climate change. . In our lifetime we can’t think of a time when there has been so much global cooperation before.

On November 29th we joined the great climate march in Westminster with hope that as December moved on good news will be announced from the Paris talks about sustainable cuts to use of fossil fuels and our carbon footprint.

The other event is that we have had PV panels installed on our roof Here’s some photos of installing the panels on the roof.

Now for the future and in Ilford, more than ever in 2016 local action is needed to go with the international agreements. There are many things we can all do to cut our carbon footprint.

In May 2016 the Redbridge Green Fair can be a great opportunity to celebrate what we can all do or have been doing to live greener lifestyles.
